NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: KING

October 24, 2016 Josh Beckerman

One of the Best and most important restaurants to open in NYC this year is King. I went last week and loved it. What I loved was sitting down at a table in the dining room, looking at King's open kitchen, and watching three female chefs working their asses off.

In today's day and age, where women are fighting for more equality everywhere, it was refreshing to see this #girlpower in the kitchen. I never saw a kitchen with all females in it, and I was happy to see this. Also, they happen to be cooking some great food too!

Their menu changes daily, the night I was their the malfatti with sage and brown butter was perfection.  Slow-cooked octopus with tomatoes, parsley, and and aioli crostini was delicious. Complimentary flatbread was light, crispy, and a joy.

Onglet, or hanger steak, is served with chickpeas and cabbage and delicious. A side of celery was great.

Stop by King when you have a moment, there is some really solid cooking going on in the kitchen over there. Girl Power never looked and tasted so good.
