NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: SEAMORE'S

September 12, 2015 Josh Beckerman

One of the hottest restaurants to open up this year is the seafood joint Seamore's, from Chef Michael Chernow (The Meatball Shop). With two and a half hour waits, a festive atmosphere, and solid fare, it's quite the spot. Situated on a bustling NoLita corner, it's the place to be.

The Poke, with ponzu, peanut, and avocado, is a must order. It's awesome.

A salad of baby lettuces with carrot, sunflower seeds, grapefruit, coconut, and cumin vinaigrette is refreshing. Pair that with the Spicy Squid Tacos, which come with kale, apple, cotija, and corn nuts. They are great.

If it's straight up fish you crave, you can choose from Seamore's daily specials which is served over greens and your choice of 3 daily sides and a choice of one of their 5 sauces. It's solid perfection.

Seamore's also serves a fabulous fish sandwich called the "Oh-Boy" with crispy skate, pickled peppers, and special sauce. #YesPlease.

For dessert, you will end with soft-serve in a cone by the great Oddfellow's Ice Cream. The flavors change all the time, on the night I dined they had kaffir-lime and coconut, and it was amazing. A magical ending, to a fun and delicious restaurant. I'll see you there soon. It's the place to be.
