The James Beard Award for "Best New Restaurant in America 2015" went to Batard, in Tribeca. I stopped in recently after it received it's award to make sure it was justified. It is. Batard is a great restaurant serving top notch fare by chef Marcus Glocker.
Octopus Pastrami comes with braised ham hock, pommery mustard, and new potatoes. It's great. Lobster salad comes with avocado, fava beans, and jicama. It's wonderful.
For all you pasta lovers (like me), you must order the Fennel Tagliatelle with smoked sturgeon, caviar, and pernod. It's incredible and #magical.
Veal tenderloin comes "tramezzini" style, with trumpet mushrooms, sweetbreads, and sauce disable. It's tender as can be. I didn't even need the bread it was wrapped in, it was def. delicious nonetheless.
