NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: XIXA

March 20, 2015 Josh Beckerman

Mexican like you've never had awaits you in Southern Williamsburg at Xixa. From the team that brought use Traif down the block, Xixa is unique and delicious. First, try one of Xixa's drinks, their beverage program is one of the most unique I've encountered, and awesome. Their aqua and agua frescas are #magical. Then dig into their cuisine.

Roasted Burrata Cheese, with mango, habanero chile, masa cakes, and apricot marmalade is #fuckingawesome. Get it.

Another dish that is not to be missed at Xixa is their buffalo-style corn elotes, with greated blue cheese and aioli. Think buffalo chicken wings, but with corn. #Amazing.

Baked lamb meatballs come with chipotle cream, cotija, and grilled garlic-cheese bread. #yesplease.

Chicken sopes are achiote-braised, with chopped liver, tomatillo-avocado, and feta. #delectable

Braised duck lettuce wraps with mushrooms, peanuts, and banana sales are #awesome!

Roasted bone marrow is served with garlic shrimp, pumpkin hot sauce, and grilled bread. #delicious

Don't skip Xixa's garlic-butter octopus with scarlet runner beans, grilled tomato, and morita salsa. It's fantastic.

So stop by Xixa soon too explore Chef Jason Marcus' take on Mexican cuisine. It's like nothing you've encountered before. A magical culinary adventure awaits!
