Another day, another great bang for your buck in the East Village. What was once the short-lived Toucan and Lion, is now the quaint and charming, The Eddy, serving one of NYC's best bang for your buck tasting menus. Their tasting menu is $58 for 5 courses (8 dishes), which comes out to $7.25 per dish, which is unbelievable. Also, the food is quite good!
Bacon tater-tots come with English Pea puree and mustard, and they are delicious. Beef tendon puff, charred onion creme, and trout roe is awesome and genius.
Burrata, stone fruit, yuzu, crispy chicken skin, anise hyssop is amazing.
Cuttlefish, ajo blanco, peppers, pancetta, and lovage is really nice. Shout out to the use of cuttlefish. Ricotta gnocchi comes with pickled garlic scapes, hazelnuts, and Spring onions, and are pillows of joy.
Lamb loin and neck, favetta, panisse, and mint is fabulous.
For dessert, Malted Milk Ice Cream, chocolate cake and pretzel crumble is a dream come true. #heavenly. #magical. #yesplease.
So, stop by the Eddy, for a drink, it has a great drink menu for a date, or for yourself. Grab a bite, or one of the best bangs for your buck tasting menus in NYC. A magical night awaits.
