Fun, Playful, Quirky, Delicious. That sums up M. Wells Steakhouse, the new steakhouse in Long Island City, from chef Hugue Dufour. What was once a garage is now this exciting and joyous foodie joint. My tablemates and myself had a grand ole time here, feasting on fun steakhouse treats.
A starter called "Korean Breakfast", came with kimchi, blood sausage, bacon, egg, and shrimp dumplings, is crazy awesome, fun, and delicious.
Truine Au Bleu, trout with caviar and then some, is a medley of tender awesomeness.
And then, there was the star attraction of the night, the tomahawk chop. At $150, for 4 people, it was in fact a great bang for your buck. There was so much meat on that plate, two people took home doggie bags. It was fabulous. Topped with cheese and truffles, a force to be reckoned with. Decadent. Opulent.
If you are on a diet like me (ahem), order a side of the poutine and carrots. Both are super fabulous.
End with a cinnamon cake topped with honey ice cream, and all is well in the World. You can walk it off later.
