TABLE FOR ONE: PIG AND KHAO

The Filipino inspired Lower East Side restaurant Pig and Khao is a fun and great spot. I dropped in recently and had a fabulous meal. Chef Leah Cohen delivers solid grub in a festive atmosphere. A perfect joint for a beer and flavorful fare.

Grilled Sirloin ($15), with lettuce, crispy garlic, and spicy issan sauce, is juicy, flavorful, and perfect.

Definitely order the popular Sizzling Sisig ($14), pork head, chili, and whole egg. Swirl that egg around and dig in to a truly fabulous dish.

A side of Pig and Khao's daily market vegetable ($7) was garlicky, delicious, and awesome.

It pays to do magic, for after showing my neighbors at the bar a few tricks they offered me a taste of their Khao Soi ($16), red curry, coconut milk, chicken, egg noodles, pickled mustard greens, and shallots. It was Khao Soi perfection. Splendid.

Food, Folks, and Fun at Pig and Khao. Head on down, grab a drink, and feast on some flavorful fare. A great time is to be had.
