TABLE FOR ONE: LE PHILOSOPHE

March 7, 2013 Josh Beckerman

What was once Hung-Ry, a great hand-pulled noodle joint on Bond St., is now a French Bistro which also happens to be great! I stopped in recently and had a truly delicious meal.

A half dozen oysters tickled my taste buds with glee. Refreshing and perfect.

Frog Legs ($12) with hen of the woods, sunchoke, watercress, and garlic were awesome. Great flavor. Deliciousness.

Garganelli ($18) came with wild mushroom ragout, hazelnuts, and spinach, was great. I loved the addition of the hazelnuts, I don't think I've had nuts in any pasta dish before, and it brought a nice-- nuttiness to the dish. :)

I ended my meal with a splendid chocolate mousse ($9) with hazelnut crisp and passion fruit. Delightful.

So check out Le Philosophe on Bond St, a great meal awaits. My favorite NYC street just got better.
