Duck's Eatery

December 10, 2012 Josh Beckerman

Another day, another East Village gem. I stopped into the new Duck's Eatery recently and was pleasantly surprised with how good the food is here.

A snack called "Dee's Nuts" ($6), cashews, Benton's bacon, cocoa krispies, and and bing cherries, was addicitve as can be. This would pair well with any beer or cocktail.

Blowfish ceviche ($8), with shrimp, calamansi, sage, corn, lime, and applewood smoke, is ingenious and amazing. Served in a little mason jar, which you open to a cloud of smoke that permeates all your senses. I loved this dish.

Crispy pig ears ($11), with Lingham's hot sauce, pickled cabbage, and sesame is tasty as can be.

St. Louis Ribs ($12), hickory smoked, dry rub, are fantastic. Rib perfection!

Chicken wings ($12) come hickory smoked, with a touch of lime and a jerk rub. They also happen to be fabulous and truly awesome. Great flavor, great wings!

Little Neck Clams ($14) come with sage, peppercorn, broth, charred corn, and toast. It's very aromatic and delicious.

So check out Duck's Eatery on East 12th Street, you'll find a cool and fun vibe, with some great flavorful and ingenious fare. I can't wait to go back!
