Bikinis

December 11, 2012 Josh Beckerman

I found another gem in the East Village. A treasure. It's small and cute, a low-key cafe vibe. And I love the place. It's called Bikinis, and it specializes in..the bikini- a Barcelona style pressed sandwich. I had a recent lunch there and loved every moment of it. Spain comes to the East Village, and you should definitely check this place out.

I started with their Don Quixote bikin ($9), which came with 18 month cured Serrano ham and manchego cheese on toast rubbed with tomato. It was delicious.

Bikinis also serves some not to be missed tapas. My fish croquettes ($5) were great. But, what really blew my mind was the Albondigas Machado ($5). Lean beef and pork meatballs soaked in white wine, herbs green peppers, ad carrot sauce. These were some of the best balls I've ever tasted. Order them.

So head East to Avenue C, and stop by Bikinis, a Spanish gem awaits.
