Chef Alex Stupak and the team from the Empellon empire has opened up their new flagship restaurant in Midtown. It's a stunning bi-level space, with awesome and unique Mexican fare to go with it. Proving once again that Chef Stupak is one of NYC's and and America's greatest chefs!
Start with the guac and homemade chips, which come with an assorted and abundant amount of salsas. Probably the most salsas I've seen at a restaurant. All are fabulous. Then try the queso fresco with citrus fruits and trout roe. It's a beautiful work of art.
Stupak excels at the art of the taco. At all his Empellons, his tacos are amazing and genius. I loved my octopus with celery and savory peanut butter taco, as well as the spit roasted beef with onions. #Magical
Don't forget, Stupak started out as a pastry chef- def. don't skip dessert. The banana ice cream with jasmine cajeta is great, or go with the off menu corn ice cream tacos. #yesplease
