NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: BESSOU

March 7, 2017 Josh Beckerman

There's a great Japanese restaurant on Bleecker off of Bowery that should not be missed. It's called Bessou (in the old Bianca space) and it's a great restaurant with an open kitchen where you can chat with the chefs while you dine on delicious Japanese fare. I love this place.

Uni with crispy rice will give you that sea urchin crunch. Udon with tempura is perfect. And don't skip Bessou's Chashuu, tomato-braised pork belly, bib lettuce wrappers, and accompaniments. It's awesome.

Stop by Bessou on the weekend and you'll get to try a tasty brunch. Their brunch shakshuka and congee are absolutely delicious.

Bessou is just a joy of a restaurant. See you there soon.
