NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: TIM HO WAN

February 2, 2017 Josh Beckerman

I love dim sum. Period. Last month, the World's cheapest Michelin starred restaurant, Tim Ho Wan, opened up on 4th avenue, not too far from Union Square. The lines were crazy. Two hours in line, just to put your name down, to wait another two hours. Craziness. Nothing is worth waiting in line, unless Natalie Portman is serving those dumplings to me. Luckily, my friends live above the restaurant, and were able to put their name down early, and it was around an hour wait.

Was it worth the wait? As stated, Natalie Portman wasn't serving, so no. But Tim Ho Wan is delicious, and serves NYC's best pork bao. It's light, crispy, airy, and like none other in NYC. If you don't feel like going all the way down to Chinatown, it's a great dim sum option too. But, there are great dim sum restaurants in Chinatown, with less waits, that will satisfy you just the same.

Tim Ho Wan is a great dim sum restaurant, as long as you don't have to wait. Magical dim sum awaits!
