NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: TASTY GARDEN

October 8, 2017 Josh Beckerman

As a self-confessed dumpling and wonton addict, I think about them all the time. Well, thank's to the grace of God, I stumbled upon a new gem in the East Village.

The place is called Tasty Garden, on 6th Street between Avenue A and Avenue B, it's tiny, with one table and a few seats. The Dumpling and Wonton Queen is named Julie, she is a true magician making the perfect little wontons. Order the spicy wontons, they come in a plastic bowl with sliced cucumber and egg on top, and have great flavor. You will love it. All the dumplings I tried were really good too. But don't skip the dan dan noodles. Not as spicy as most dan dan noodles I've had, -I actually prefer it spicier- but, those noodles are perfectly cooked, and the dish is still pure magic. The wonton soup is soothing an wonderful as well.

Tasty Garden is a true gem. A wonton treasure in the East Village everyone needs to dine at soon.
