NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: KINGSLEY

March 25, 2016 Josh Beckerman

Another day, another great East Village restaurant. What was once Back Forty, is now the delectable Kingsley, where chef Roxanne Spruance is turning out some great dishes. It's a great space with great light, the perfect East Village restaurant.

Start with the charred octopus with salsify, blood orange, cocoa nibs, and cilantro. Then get the Roasted Bone Marrow with shallot, tarragon, braised beef tongue, and a date-sherry shot. It's awesome!

Bacon cured sweet breads, with peanut, ancho, beer, and pear, are tender as can be.

One of the best dishes I've had all year, and a must order is the Celeriac Agnolotti with seared foie gras, sunflower, mesquite cake, and black pepper gastrique. Not only is this dish outstanding, it's gluten free! #godbless

Chicken Thigh Napoleon, crispy thighs, brussels sprouts, cippolinis, gravy and grits is #perfection.

Also, Kingsley serves a truly awesome brunch on Sundays, which is not to be missed. With dishes like an amazing steak tartare, a croque madame, and house cured bacon, it's absolutely wonderful!

Welcome to the neighborhood Kingsley! We're glad you're here. Seeya real soon.
