One of the best restaurants to open up so far this year in NYC, is a "Speakeasy Restaurant" in the back of a bar. DinnerTable is located in the back of the bar the Garrett East, on Avenue A and 13th St. You ring a bell to get in, and what you find once you are let in. is a small room, which basically is like you are in someone's home kitchen. I haven't been to a place like this in NYC, it's pretty darn cool too be honest. More importantly though, the food is fantastic! This is a great restaurant and you need to check it out.

Start with the homemade garlic pretzel with house made cheese, it's awesome. Then try DinnerTable's short rib tartare with horseradish and marble rye. Absolutely wonderful.

The dumplings at DinnerTable come with potato & pecorino, and are pure perfection.

A dish called "Doyer St. Saltimbocca', a pasta dish of braised veal, guanciale, and black garlic, delicious.

They have a tasty burger here too, called "The Sixth Guy's Burger", a tribute to Five Guys Burger, where their original Garret bar is located above. It comes with capocollo, straccino, and deli peppers. #yesplease

Definitely do not skip dessert here. Their take on the "choco taco", a chocolate espresso taco is outstanding. I was in heaven, and you will be too. A hidden gem, in the back of a bar. It's one of NYC's great places. A magical dining experience awaits!
