The team behind the great Charlie Bird has opened Pasquale Jones on Kenmare and Mulberry, over in NoLita, and it is, and will be, one of the best restaurants to open in 2016. I stopped in their first night open, and was blown away with what I like to call, simple perfection. Pasquale Jones is a great restaurant.
One of the best beet dishes I've consumed came this night. Chef Ryan Hardy serves their beets with huckleberry, sorrel, and puffed grains. It's outstanding.
Definitely order one of the pizzas on the menu. My Little Neck clam pie, with rapini, lemon, garlic and cream was awesome. That clam flavor really shines.
Spaghetti comes with Spanish Anchovy and Bergamot. I took one bite, and almost cried with joy. Why? Because this dish was so simple, yet so pleasureable. After one bite, it transported me to the Amalfi Coast. And they crazy thing is, I've never been to the Amalfi Coast. When a dish can do that, it is truly #Magical!
Their lone dessert, roasted pineapple with mascarpone gelato, was another simple pleasure that was pure perfection.
Pasquale Jones is a home run. I'll see you guys there soon. A magical culinary adventure awaits.
