One of the BEST restaurants in NYC is Colicchio & Sons. Period. My previous meal here was in their "Dining Room", but they also have the "Tap Room" up front, with a different menu, but like the "Dining Room", an amazing place. Every dish that came out was so good and excellent. Perfect execution, with fabulous flavors and textures. It's just a pleasure to eat here, and you should too!
Beef Tartare $17) comes with smoked egg vinaigrette & toasted baguette. Greatness.
Escargot ($20) with garlic confit, Benton's bacon, & sourdough, is amazing. One of the best preparations of snail I've ever encountered.
A pizza ($18) of taleggio, olives, prosciutto, and rosemary, was rich and fabulous.
Roasted octopus ($23) comes with N'duja, fingerling potatoes, and cilantro. It is spot on awesome.
They have a burger on their lunch menu, but if you ask politely, they'll serve it to you during dinner, like they did for me. And you know what? It's fantastic.
If you are craving fish, you can't go wrong with the skate ($27) with black radish, citrus, and peekytoe crab. It's wonderful.
Do not pass up any of Pastry chef Stephen Collucci's desserts. They are #fuckingawesome. A parfait with cookie dough ice cream, hot fudge, and candied walnuts? Yes, Please. Zeppole with passion fruit curd and coconut milk sorbet? Sign me up, and let me know where to orgasm.
