A taste of Mexico City in the Flatiron. Chef Enrique Olvera from the famed Pujol has opened up this modern Mexican joint, and it's unlike anything in New York City. Don't expect chips and guac here, expect unique flavors for the refined palate. I stopped in the first day they were opened to see what type of magic was coming out if this highly anticipated kitchen.
Have a bite of Cosme's complimentary blue corn masa, it's the best in NYC. Then a dish called "Burrata and weeds" ($22) might tickle your fancy. It's burrata like you've never had before, unique and delicious.
Octopus cocktail, purple corn atole, red onion, and avocado ($25) is awesome. Vibrant, Fresh, and just Lovely.
Lobster pibil sope, chorizo, and black beans ($24) was very interesting, unlike anything I've eaten all year. But, the dish that blew me away came at dessert. It's the dessert of the year. Husk meringue, corn mousse ($12). It's unbelievable, magical, and #fuckingawesome. Order it. Thank me later. ;)
