Get some unique Northern Spanish tapas on at the new Nolita joint Plan B on Mulberry Street. What was once a jewelry store, is now a great space serving a contemporary take on tapas influenced by Barcelona and the Basque region. I had a little tasting last week with some delectable bites.
Anchovies ($14) come smoked in olive oil, and are super fabulous.
Asparagus ($10) comes with balsamic, red chili, and grated Manchego cheese. It has a great kick and is delicious.
Fried pork skin ($6) comes on a savory cookie with garlic aioli and is a tasty little bite.
Halibut ($18) is seared with a salt crust in a mussel-saffron bisque and lemon preserve and is great.
Paella ($12) at Plan B is served in a shot glass, shooter style. Mussel, Shrimp, Clam, Chorizo, White Wine, and Shellfish Broth. Yes, Please.
Chorizo ($10) is served with parsley, oregano, garlic, and olive oil, and is wonderful.
Cornish hen ($12) is roasted and served in an absinthe cream, and is quite lovely.
Striped Bass ($15 comes with charred tomatoes, sherry vinegar, garlic and parsley, and is delightful. Perfection.
So grab a cocktail or wine, and some tasty little bites at Plan B.
