Antica Pesa in Rome, has been around since 1922. That is awesome. Well, they opened up a sister restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and I am happy to report, it is great! There are so many Brooklyn gems, too many to name. Antica Pesa has been getting a lot of press lately, it's a celebrity favorite. After a recent meal there, I can see why. The space, with it's high ceilings, and well spaced tables, is comfortable as can be. The food is solid and delicious. But, what makes Antica Pesa special, is their owner and host, Francesco. Francesco, and his team, make Antica Pesa an awesome restaurant. The service is fabulous. Francesco, is the quintessential host, floating from table to table, greeting guests, kissing hellos, and ciaos, and goodbyes. His positivity permeates throughout the restaurant. He truly is the host with the most. Pair a great host with delectable bites and you'll have me coming back for years to come.

You must start with Antica Pesa's Crudo E Bufala Croccante ($17), Prosciutto Di Parma, Fresh Mozzarella in Filo Crust. That mozzarella is flown in from Rome, and is to die for. Superfabulous!

Carpaccio Di Anatra ($16), House-Smoked Duck Breast with Cannellini Bean Pate, Piadina, Asparagus, and Balsamic Glaze is delicious.

What's an Italian joint without great pasta? Pasta at Antica Pesa is awesome. I had a plate of two. Schiaffoni All'Amatriciana ($16), with Guanciale, Tomato, and Pecorino is wonderful. Perfection. I loved it!

Antica Pesa's Cacio E Pepe is spot on wonderful. Period.

Baccala 'Alla Romana ($24), Salt Cod with Onions, tomatoes, and Semolino Gnocco Alla Romana is fabulous. There was such a great sweetness to this dish. Another winner.

Scottadito DI Agnello ($30), grilled lamb chops with cipollini in Agrodolce and bitter grens is fabulous too. Juicy, tender, and delicious. Lamb Chop perfection.

So let's all meet in Williamsburg some time and grab a bite at Anitca Pesa. You can go without me too, just tell Francesco I sent you. A magical meal awaits.
