Fabulous pizza awaits you at the Italian restaurant Forcella, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Pizza genius Giulio Adriani is cooking up some amazing pies. A lunch last week here brought me to pizza heaven.
It would be wise to start with the caponatina ($8), eggplant, zucchini, potato, red pepper, and tomato. It's truly great! The Amalfi salad ($8), radicchio, arugula, gorgonzola, pear, and nuts, might tickle your fancy too. A drizzle of honey the perfect touch.
I've eaten Chef Adrian's pizzas before (at Olio), and they are no different here. They are wonderful. The classic Margherita ($11), tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, and basil, is true pizza perfection. Everything is made in house. The tomato sauce sweet as can be, the mozzarella fresh as ever. Also, coming in at only 500 calories, this pizza is quite healthy!
A special carbonara pizza made with egg and topped with prosciutto was outstanding. Unique and awesome. God would love this pie.
Dessert at Forcella is quite wonderful too. I was pretty stuffed, but glad my stomach cooperated and made room for an Italian budin and a chocoalte hazelnut puff pastry. Fabulosity.
A trip to Brooklyn for some fabulous pizza is always a trip worth taking.
