NYC FOODIE BROOKLYN RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK: ST. ANSELM

If you are in Brooklyn, and craving your food grilled, stop by the new St. Anselm, in Williamsburg. I stopped by last week and had a very pleasant meal. I didn't know much about this place, I had heard they opened last year, and had to close, and reopened recently with a new concept. That concept is having most of your food grilled.

I started with grilled sardines with pickled taro root. This dish was unique and fine, if slightly boring. I did love the pickled taro root which i had never had before.

Grilled skirt steak came dressed with garlic butter. It was juicy and delicious, and I loved it! A side of pan-fried mashed potatoes with truffle oil was fabulous. Seems truffle oil makes everything taste a tad better. I loved the pan-frying technique on these potatoes too. Order them!
