NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: LOMBARDI'S

The oldest pizzeria in America is Lombardi's. Opened in 1905, it's a living institution, still going strong on Spring St. in our own New York City. Every time I walk by I see crowds of tourists waiting outside, in order to get their taste of those beautiful coal oven pies.

Lucky for me, I had a little tasting today,  and tried some deliciously magical pies. The white pie comes with garlic infused olive oil, and is true pizza perfection. True Awesomeness. The margherita is the classic. And does a body good, with fresh local mozzarella and sweet San Marzano tomato sauce. I loved every bite. Try a pepperoni pie at Lombardi's, and you'll get some beautifully crispy pepperonis that are just a joy to eat. A mushroom and roasted pepper pie will do you some good too. And with a perfectly cooked, and crispy crust, all your pizza pie fantasies will come true. They did for me today. An institution in America, turning out magical pies in NoLita. Now that's amore.
