TABLE FOR ONE: MAYSVILLE

The sister restaurant to Char No. 4, a great Brooklyn joint has sprouted in the Flatiron District, and it's a wonderful restaurant. Maysville, like Char No. 4, has an extensive selection of bourbon and whiskeys, and awesome Southern inspired fare.

Start off with some nice complimentary cornbread and then try the popular crispy grits ($9) with Country ham and bourbon aioli. These are tasty bites of joy, unique to NYC.

Poached egg ($16) with grits, duck confit, mushrooms and smoked broth is unbelievable. Truly magical flavor and texture. Ingenious. A culinary orgasm waiting to happen. Order it.

Smoked trout ($24) comes with watercress, pickled mushrooms, and charred onions. Its one delicious fish. Fabulous.

It would definitely be wise to save room for dessert at Maysville. My bread pudding with butterscotch and candied pecan ice cream was sensational.

So get your Southern charm on in the Flatiron district at Maysville. Grab a bourbon (or 3) and have some awesome food. A magical night awaits.
