I love sushi. Well, that might be an understatement. If you told me I had to eat sushi everyday, for the rest of my life, I would. In fact, I eat it almost every day anyways. Put a piece of fresh uni in my mouth, and let the foodgasms commence. There are a bunch of temples of sublime sushi in NYC, I have eaten at many.
Kanoyama in the East Village is fabulous. I have been here multiple times, and all my sushi experiences (except one) here have been pitch perfect.
On my
most recent visit, I ordered the "Chef's Special" Sushi Entree ($29).
10 pieces of sushi and a roll. Not only was the sushi fresh and sublime,
at 29 bucks, I think it was a great deal. (My one pet peeve, is when
sushi spots offer a free "California Roll". Most sushi spots in NYC have
this as a choice, including Kanoyama, and I am sick of it! A California
Roll is not sushi! It is fake! Please take California rolls off of your
menus Sushi spots of NYC! Geez! Snore :)
