The Standard Hotel East Village finally has a new joint to grab some grub at, the first of two helmed by the fabulous chef John Fraser. The Cafe Standard is the perfect little spot to grab a small bite, wine, or a coffee, for lunch or dinner. It's got a cute quaint Parisian feel to it, and plants hanging from the ceiling. I stopped in last week for lunch, and had a truly pleasant time.
A rotisserie chicken sandwich ($14) marinated in Peruvian spices was quite tasty. It definitely was not too easy too eat, open-faced, you needed a fork and knife, and I could have used some more kick to it, but it was nonetheless, delectable. Also, it was accompanied with the most perfect side of fries. Deliciousness. For dessert, pumpkin praline cheesecake ($9), with orange sabayon, and figs, was divine, awesome, and the perfect ending to a quaint and great little lunch.
