If you were waiting for the day for a restaurant to open that solely sold taquitos, well the wait is over. I bring you the new LES joint Taquitoria, specializing in that one dish; the taquito. If you are not familiar with a taquito, it's just a crisp-fried rolled taco, filled with usually beef, chicken, or cheese. I stopped into Taquitoria last week and enjoyed my taquitos immensely.
It's pretty easy to order, you first choose your filling of either Creekstone Farm's Beef, Bell & Evan's chicken, Berkshire pork, or Black Bean. Then you choose which style you want; Classic: Guac sauce, Shredded Lettuce, and Cotija Cheese. Or Cheesy: Nacho Cheese, Sour Cream, Pickled Jalapeño Relish. You get 3 for $5, or 5 for $8. That's what I'm talking about!
I actually opted first for the off the menu "Chronic"-style which combines both. Wha wha!? Had my taquitos filled with Berkshire pork, which was juicy and delicious. I ordered three more "Cheesy"-style and filled with chicken, and that too, surely hit the spot. So get your taquito on at Taquitoria. Taquito perfection awaits.
