The East Village is filled with little Japanese joints serving out delicious sushi and Japanese fare. One little gem on East 9th Street is Hasaki. I know a few people that swear by this place, and after a recent lunch there, I could see why. The sushi is not in the category of sublime, say like, Sushi of Gari or Soto, but it is definitely solid. A fine choice should you be in the East Village. You'd be plenty satisfied.
