Chef Ryan Bartlow transports us to the Basque region of Spain at his new Lower East Side joint Ernesto’s. Situated on East Broadway, a fabulous culinary street, it’s a pleasant space to devour delectable Spanish bites. Bartlow’s Morcilla melts in your mouth, with the help of an apple sauce. His shrimp toast is pure greatness. Homemade potato chips paired with Iberico ham, is a tower of joy. Octopus is paired with pear and salsa bravas hits both sweet and spicy notes, and is absolutely fabulous. End with Ernesto’s perfect flan, and your trip to Spain in the LES is complete! I plan on going back soon, to consume the rest of the menu. Basque Magic in the LES!
