One of the Best restaurants to open up in 2015, opened up within the last two weeks of the year. What was once Corsino, is now the amazing and truly awesome Philly import, High Street on Hudson. High Street on Hudson is an all day sandwich shop and bakery, that you need to check out. I haven't experienced anything really like this place in New York City, it's truly a magical place.
I stopped in for breakfast one day, and went the next day for lunch. Why? High Street bakes all their bread on premises, so you are getting the freshest breads possible. I mean, I wanted to try not to eat bread and carbs in 2016, but with High Street on Hudson around, it's going to make it very tough. It's just one of the most amazing sandwich shops in town. A gem in the West Village, I'd travel from anywhere to eat at.
Pastrami & Hash comes with shaved pastrami, spiced hash, roasted peppers and onions, farm egg, and russian dressing. This all on the perfect little poppy seed roll. #perfection #yespleae
Beet Cured Salmon sits atop a pretzel roll with celery cream cheese, red onion, fried capers, and dill. It's awesome. #love
Roasted Turkey comes with green goddess, mayo, lettuce, and fresh herbs. #Greatness
One of the #best sandwiches I've ever eaten in my life is High Street on Hudson's Duck Meatball Sub. Served with spicy marinara, liver & onions, lancaster Amish swiss, all on semolina, it is nothing short of incredible. I absolutely love this sandwich. A true work of art.
For dessert, you can try any of their pastries. I tried their take on the Fig Newton, a little oatcake filled with apricot, and it was fabulous.
High Street on Hudson is an exciting restaurant because everything about it is so awesome. I predict it to really become a true hit in 2016. There is true magic going on at the corner of Hudson and Horatio, I'll see you there soon. Carbs be damned, I'll be making those sandwiches disappear.
