Ivan Orkin is, as his Instagram handle states, is a "ramenjunkie". A wizard of all things ramen. His Ivan Orkin Slurp Shop at the Gotham West Market is sensational. And now Chef Orkin has opened up his long awaited Lower East Side ramen joint, Ivan Ramen. I stopped in a week ago and was thrilled with every bite. Ivan Ramen is Awesome. Period.

"1000 year old deviled egg" ($3.50) hen egg + preserved duck egg, tomato, and bonito is delicious.

Braised ox tongue ($9), beef broth, hot mustard, is fabulous.

And then there is the ramen. There are six varieties to choose from. I went with the Four Cheese Mazemen ($15), dashi, pickled bean sprout, pork chashu, whole wheat noodle. Yes, please. True Awesomeness.
