NYC FOODIE DISH OF THE WEEK: COCONUT SHRIMP FROM TOMMY BAHAMA RESTAURANT

Ah, coconut shrimp. That shrimp dish that I tend to usually find too sweet and 'coconuty'. Well, I found the perfect coconut shrimp dish at an unexpected restaurant. I was invited to a little tasting at the Tommy Bahama Restaurant upstairs in the Tommy Bahama store on 45th St. and 5th Avenue. I would never had gone there, unless I was invited. And I found some tasty island inspired fare there. If you are in Midtown seeking out some "island-inspired" fare, with an open island decor, and some positive and friendly staff, then the Tommy Bahama Restaurant could be a great fit for you. It was that coconut, that was perfectly executed and not too "coconuty" at all that had me craving more. And while you're there, may as well try their pineapple creme brulee, it is quite awesome too!
