NYC FOODIE LUNCH OF THE WEEK: ZIO

Delicious Mediterranean fare awaits you in the Flatiron district. Zio, a new Italian joint is a large, beautiful, and spacious restaurant on 19th Street, that has some fabulous dishes. I had a lunch there last week, and enjoyed some memorable dishes.

Yellow fin tuna tartar ($15), with seaweed, sesame seeds, avocado, and soy citrus dressing, was spot on perfect. A well-balanced and great starter.

A crunchy saffron risotto cake ($13), served with bone marrow and gremolada sauce, blew my mind. I'd never had a dish quite like this. The texture of the risotto was wonderful, and you throw some amazing bone marrow on any dish, I'm a happy camper. This was a great dish.

Zio also serves one awesome lamb burger. I love lamb burgers, and if you are at Zio for lunch, it is definitely worth ordering. Juicy and delicious, it's served with red onion marmalade and goat cheese. I devoured mine in moments!
