NYC FOODIE LUNCH OF THE WEEK: DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY

Another day, another amazing pork sandwich. This one comes from the fabulous Soho bakery, Dominique Ansel Bakery. Dominique Ansel, the former pastry chef at Daniel, has a way with sweets. All of his tasty treats at his bakery are fantastic, and it's one of my favorite bakeries in NYC. But the bakery is a great place for a coffee and lunch as well, before dessert. The roasted pork club ($12), six-hour pork shoulder, pickled eggs, tomatoes, Bibb lettuce, and spicy mayonnaise, all on sourdough, is absolutely terrific. After one bite, I teared with joy at the amazingness of this sandwich. Get one for yourself, and you'll see what I mean. For dessert I recommend anything at this spot, especially the Paris-New York ($5.50), made with páte a choux dough, and filled with chocolate, caramel, and peanut. It's an orgasm waiting to happen.
