I have walked by Cafe Gitane for years. Crowds of hip and cool people always hanging outside waiting to snag a table during brunch, lunch, and dinner. This little gem tucked in the heart of NoLita has been around for awhile, catering to the cool kids. I finally checked out he place last month and was plenty satisfied with my solid fare. I felt cooler just sitting there.
An Asian inspired salad was refreshing as can be.
Cucumber, yogurt, and mint salad with hummus and pita bread was delicious.
Moroccan couscous with red peppers, raisins, toasted pinenuts, hummus, and eggplant, was pitch perfect awesome.
So if you wanna be cool, hip, and eat well, Cafe Gitane, is a NoLita treasure worth checking out.
