NYC FOODIE QUICK BITE: MANZANILLA

Tasty tapas and unique Spanish fare await you at the Spanish Brasserie, Manzanilla, from Spain's acclaimed chef Dani Garcia, and owner Yann de Rochefort (Boqueria). I stopped in recently and had a delightful meal.

Tomato tartare ($8) served on toast is delicious.

Croquettes ($12) are filled with squid ink and cuttlefish, and topped with coriander and citrus aiolis. Fabulous.

Smoked octopus ($13), potatoes, and spicy pimenton is unique and great.

Tuna Tartare ($14) comes with uni cream, avocado, green apple, and citrus dressing, and is a joy to eat.

Black Rice ($26), bomba rice, squid ink, shrimp, cuttlefish ribbons, and citrus aioli is really good too.

Bacalao ($27),  fresh cod seared a la plancha, with baby zucchini, asparagus, and mussel veloute, is wonderful.

For dessert, try Marbella's Full Moon, a playful ending to a unique and delicious meal.
